Filmmakers, directors, writers, actors, musicians, artists, editors, sound techs, make-up artists, DOPs and creatives of all kinds!

HamburgerKino e.V. invites you to the 22nd edition of the International KinoKabaret Hamburg!

This is your chance to dive into filmmaking in its most collaborative form – creative, productive, communicative, intense, and above all: fun. Ever wanted to be on a film set without the usual pressure and hierarchies?

No spectators. No hierarchy. No excuses. Just people, ideas – and the urge to make films.

This year, we’re returning to our home base: the HamburgerKino headquarter at FilmFabrique. After a period of renovation, we’re opening the doors again – not quite finished, but already full of life. Expect a space in transition: a little raw, a little improvised, but made as welcoming and vibrant as possible.

For one week, creatives from all over the world come together in Hamburg to create brand-new short films in just a few days. Following the spirit of the movement: Do well with nothing. Do better with little. But do it now!

  • Fri, May 22 – Welcome Evening @ FilmFabrique
  • Sat, May 23 – Project Pitch Round 1
  • Mon, May 25 – Screening Round 1 @ Metropolis Kino
  • Tue, May 26 – Project Pitch Round 2
  • Wed, May 27 – Screening Round 2 @ Metropolis Kino
  • Thu, May 28 – Project Pitch Round 3
  • Sat, May 30 – Screening Round 3 @ Oberhafengarten (Open Air Screening)

Participation Fees:

  • 130 € – full access (all rounds, incl. breakfast + one warm vegan meal per day + tea & coffee)
  • 60 € – Round 1 or 3 (incl. breakfast + one warm vegan meal per day + tea & coffee)
  • 40 € – Round 2 (incl. breakfast + one warm vegan meal per day + tea & coffee)

Accommodation:
Around 15 sleeping spots are available (first come, first served). We recommend also arranging your own stay – through fellow Kinoites, couch surfing, Airbnb, or friends in the city.
